Neha was born in the Punjabi-speaking Dhupia family in Cochin, India, on August 27, 1980, and as is customary with most Punjabi and Sikh families – she was nicknamed ‘Chotu’.
Her dad is an Officer in the Indian Navy, Pradip Singh Dhupia; her mom, Manpinder, is a homemaker, and she has a brother, Hardeep, who works with Jet Airways.
Neha Dhupia, the former Miss India(Universe) and present Bollywood actress, was born on 27th August 1980 in Cochin, Kerala.
Her father commander Pradip Singh Dhupia was in Indian Navy. She completed her schooling from Army Public School and graduated in History from Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi.
She was brought up in New Delhi with her brother Hardeep, aviator of Jet Airways.
Neha Dhupia started her career from her college days.
At the age of 19, she made her first public appearance in ‘Rajdhani’, a popular TV serial of Star Plus, produced by Bobby Bedi.
Besides Rajdhani, Neha appeared in many TV serials like SSHH!!Koi Hai for Star Plus, Moosafir Hoon Yaaron- a travel show and various fitness programmes.
She also enacted in music videos namely Shanana by Euphoria under the direction of Pradip Sircar and Jaagi Hoon Main by Sanchaita Ghosal. She won Femina Miss India- Universe title in 2002.
It proved to be a turning point in her life and opened the doors of Bollywood for her.
Neha Dhupia’s made her Bollywood debut with the movie ‘Qayamat-The City Under Threat’ by Harry Baweja in 2003.
Her subsequent movies include: Miss India-The Mystery in 2003, Julie and Rakht in 2004, Siskiyaan, Sheesha, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum in 2005 and Teesri Aankh, Chup Chup Ke, Utthaan,Hot and Delhi Heights in 2006.
This beautiful bollywood belle has done Ad campaigns for popular commercial brands like Pepsi, Meena Bazar, Reebok, Mitsubishi Lancer, LG, National and Maruti.
Neha Dhupia participates in the ramp-shows organized by eminent people and companies like Monisha Bajaj, Rina Dhaka, Ogaan, NIFT New Delhi and Airtel.
As a child she completed her schooling in Vizag, then in Naval Public School, and eventually graduated in History from Jesus and Mary College in Delhi.
She started her career as an actress in Rajdhani (1999) a TV serial during the year 1999.
Since then she has appeared in a number of TV advertisements, ramp shows, as well as two music videos.
She gained instant fame in India when she was crowned ‘Miss India 2002’, taking over this title from Bollywood actress, Celina Jaitley.
Neha finished amongst the top 10 in the ‘Miss Universe 2002’.
She made her debut on the tinsel screen during 1997 with Jab Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya (1997).
Then during the year 2003 she appeared in two Telugu movies, before making her first major appearance in a Bollywood flick Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003) also during the same year.

Was crowned Fa Femina Miss India 2002.
Her father was in the Navy, and so the family stationed in Cochin, Kerala when Neha was born. They later moved to New Delhi, where she grew up.
